Shakespeare’s Sonnets: 3

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved hearing Shakespeare recited by characters in movies and by people in real life. It was an experience that was exciting and rare for me. Things have changed. We now live in a great age for this, so I plan to make the most of it. I will be posting one video per sonnet by someone who I feel shares it well.

So sit back and enjoy. If you find a sonnet you like in particular, I encourage you to look it up and experience it through many different voices. If you find a version of a sonnet that you love special, please link to it in a comment below so that we can all benefit. Be sure to let us know a reason or two about why the sonnet and the performance resonates with you so that we can understand, appreciate, and connect with it better and deeper than we otherwise would on our own.

Happy Shakespeariencing!

  1. What I like best about Deeivya Meir’s reading of this sonnet is the musicality of her voice as she reads: the highs and lows, the ebbs and flows. It makes it magical for me.

Thou speak'st wiser than thou art ware of... so give it a go! :)
